I received my new #passport today. From the day I turned my application in at the post office to today, 4 weeks & 5 days passed, including today.

I got my 1st one in 1977. I never used it & eventually it was lost. My name was different then; not my maiden name & of course not my current name.

The only documents I had to show were a certified copy of my birth certificate & my Real ID. The total cost was $165 + photo

Italy moves to curb 'right of blood' citizenship claims.

Italy's government has announced it would tighten citizenship laws to put a stop to people going too far back in their family history to make a case for citizenship.

Currently, according to Italy's "right of blood" or "jure sanguinis" laws, people with proof of an Italian ancestor alive after 17 March 1861, when the Kingdom of Italy was proclaimed, can get nationality.

I still recall what it was like to be an American in #Europe during the Bush presidency of the 2000s, but I imagine this is much incredibly worse during #Trump. Now, it’s even deeper anti-Americanism and tension everywhere, not just Europe. #travel #passport
