This visit is the first for a senior Russian agent to Washington since the start of the Russian war of aggression against #Ukraine in February 2022.

$3.5 billion in trade between the two countries in 2024.

US sanctions targeting the Russian economy are also on the agenda. Kirill Dmitriev has personally been under US sanctions since 2022 and needed a temporary suspension of these restrictions to obtain a visa to enter #US. He was at the Ru - US talks Feb 18 in Saudi Arabia, a few days after the first official call between Putin & Trump since return to office.
