Our current Prime Minister (election later this month) has indicated that our government is already in talks with many global partners including Mexico, Australia, the EU, and China to bypass typical trade that is routed through the US. So someone splain to me in plane English what did Canada do to America to violate the trade agreement our current president negotiated and signed with them the last time he was president. He said it was great. Why is it not great now? Maybe I’m stupid. Or is it he just is…

I'm not sure I understand your understanding...

Essentially 100% of all Canadian goods being sold into the US market were already "complying with the USMCA". And the US had exactly the access to the Canadian market that the USMCA specifies.

i.e. there was nothing that Canada was non-compliant with. But we got hit with tariffs *explicitly banned* by the USMCA itself.

The USA is the only one who was noncompliant with our trade agreement, which if you'll remember, Mango Mussolini was extremely proud to boast that he negotiated himself, before recently saying whoever negotiated it was an idiot.
