I'm officially caught up now, and THOM IS BACK! I really hope the writers realised what a mistake they made in adapting him out and he joins the main cast after this.

Natasha O'Keeffe is just magnificent as Lanfear, and Ceara Coveney shows a whole other side of Elayne. The casting is all around great, but Coveney really stands out.

Rand gets to do stuff and matter to the plot, which also fleshes out Aiel culture.

I like this episode.

Egwene learns dreamwalking. Perrin proves why is the best. There is intrigue in the White Tower. Aiel are friendly. Moiraine despairs over destiny. Team Nynaeve travel. Rand is there, too.

Overall a solid episode, but clearly building up to future drama.

We finally get an episode focused on Rand, as all other plot threads are omitted so this episode can entirely cover the trials of Rhuidean. Damn, Josha Stradowski can act. I actually teared up at the Lewin vision.

We also get a good dose of Aviendha, which is always welcome.

I guess Asmodean just won't be in show show then?

It's a bit surprising that most of the Aiel are played by Scandinavians.

Lots of child marriage and rage against it because this show really wants to be Game of Thrones. Liandrin is at her best when she's being evil, but I don't quite buy it when she's sympathetic.

Lots of Perrin this episode, which is good because he's my favourite character in the books and this episode does him justice.

I see they resolved the potential issue with Faile's name by changing it to Melden... but also changed Zarine to Faile

It's funny when you've been a part of fandom once, because even when you're not involved, you know how most of the fandom would've reacted.
