There definitely is a big difference between living the naturist live style and being perverted.

Balmedie beach in Aberdeenshire is known for its glorious sandy shore and dunes, but what about nakedness?
The popular spot, located just seven miles to the north of Aberdeen, has been put on a list of over 60 beaches across the UK by the Daily Mail.
However, there is some confusion over whether people are able to bare all there.
The article said: “A large expansive sandy beach, stretching for miles, Balmedie’s naturist section is located around the firing range, a short walk from the country park’s car park.”
Nudists better watch out if they are in the buff in the area, and not just due to it being located near the firing range at Blackdog, but because it is not actually a designated nudist one.
According to Aberdeenshire Council, Balmedie is a public beach and has no such designation.”
It is unclear how many people do strip off at the beach, however, it is featured on the Naturist Guide website.

Mid-Formartine Conservative councillor Derek Ritchie told The P&J that he had not heard of it being used as a nudist beach, but said the idea of it “sounds disgusting”.
He added: “As we approach the spring and summer months, Balmedie Beach is a local attraction for locals and the wider population. Most people would be horrified by this.”...

It's not an offence to be naked in public - but there is a common law offence of "offending public decency" in Scotland.
It's best to stick to designated nudist beaches to avoid offending beachgoers, as many with young kids may feel uncomfortable.
According to MailOnline, there are six beaches in Scotland where you can be naked in public.
These are Balmedie Beach in Aberdeenshire, Cleat's Shore on Arran, Crakaig Beach in Sutherland, Kinshaldy Beach at Tentsmuir, Fife, Lower Largo Beach in Fife and Ostel Bay, Cowal Peninsula.
But some locals have been left confused by some of the locations on the list...

A camper from Gauteng was left stunned on when he witnessed a controversial religious ceremony at Victoria Bay.
The George Herald has reported that a group of women were baptised in a rock pool, completely nude, by a person dressed in religious attire. The shocking incident unfolded in full view of beachgoers and visitors on 15 March.
The camper, who chose to remain anonymous, described the ceremony as lasting around two hours. Some of the women appeared to be underage, raising concerns about the event’s nature. Additionally, a mysterious substance that caused the water in the rock pool to appear milky was added, though its identity and purpose remain unclear.
While the camper acknowledged the right to religious and cultural practices, he expressed discomfort at the public nudity, which he argued was illegal. ‘Being naked on a beach is illegal,’ he stated, referencing the potential violation of public decency laws, as he spoke to the George Herald.
The Wilderness Defence Force (WDF) was alerted, who then contacted local authorities. When the police arrived, the group had already concluded the ceremony, and conversations with the participants were held.
It remains uncertain which religious denomination the group belonged to or why such a private act was performed in a public setting...

A Fremantle artist has had his bronze statue rejected from a sculpture event after it was deemed too racy for the family-friendly show.
Sculpture by Bathers will run until April, transforming the Fremantle coastline into an open-air gallery that organisers boast will highlight “bold installations, intricate sculptures and thought-provoking pieces”.
However, Greg James has been told his $66,000 nude sculpture of Gaia the Greek goddess was not accepted to take part in the event due to concerns over public nudity.
The well-known sculptor said he was not angry about the decision, but that he didn’t understand it.
He said his sculpture was about celebrating mother earth and raising awareness on how we treat our environment but instead has become a conversation around nudity.
“Personally I don’t get that, I mean we’re all nude at some point,” he said.
“I was quite surprised and bemused because my partner takes our little dog for a walk up Bathers Beach every morning and there is always an abundance of little bottoms with g-strings.”
James said the rejection had started an interesting conversation about public nudity.
“Is this a problem for people or is this just life?” he said.
“For me and this world and the stuff that’s going on in the world ... I think we’ve got worse things to worry about.”...

Toronto will witness masses of naked riders passing through its landmarks and streets this spring as part of the annual clothing-optional World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR).
The yearly tradition will see hundreds of bikers strip down to their birthday suits to protest against oil dependency and urban pollution, promote greater cycling safety on roads, and encourage body freedom for all.
Since its inception over 20 years ago, the traffic-stopping event has also grown to include riders protesting censorship and nudity laws. There's no cost or registration associated with the event, so if you're keen on joining, all you have to do is grab your helmet and sunscreen.

ALMATY, Kazakhstan – Shirt, shoes, no service is the motto at the Arasan bathhouse.
The bathhouse was built in 1982 under the Communist Party of Kazakhstan and is one of the few remaining Soviet-era establishments in Almaty.
“Just over 200 patrons visit the bath house each day,” Diana Kaldybek, a guest services representative at the bathhouse said through a translator.
When learning about some of the bathhouse’s history during our walking tour on the first day, my friend Amy and I knew we had to go inside.
After a day full of altitude sickness at the Shymbulak Mountain Resort, we decided what could be better than sweating it out together at the Arasan bathhouse.
Following a confusing exchange with employees at the front desk, Amy and I weren’t entirely sure what we were walking into, other than a room full of naked women. We had thought the baths were clothing optional, however, we quickly learned that clothes weren’t allowed.
The bathhouse was filled with women of all ages, shapes and sizes, swimming in a cold pool together. As someone who has body image issues, I was scared to drop my towel and join the women in the pool but after some encouragement I waded in.
For the first time, I didn’t feel sexualized and if anything I felt empowered that I was there for no one but myself...

Colorado offers an abundance of ways to experience nature in the nude, from clothing-optional hot springs to nudist hiking groups. Add to the list an all-female ski festival where women strip down for a naked run on the mountain.
You heard that right: Boot Tan Fest is a sun’s out, buns out celebration of womanhood, coming to Sunlight Mountain Resort in Glenwood Springs April 10-12.
Now in its fifth year, the festival has grown to include multiple days of live music, comedy and snowsport workshops. The signature event, however, remains the naked lap, which happens at midday on Friday, April 11.
Attendees this year don’t need to worry about sharing the slopes with the general public. Boot Tan Fest rented out the entirety of Sunlight Mountain Resort, adding a layer of privacy for those who choose to strip down and shred.
Founder Jenny Verrochi accidentally started this now annual event in 2021, when she organized a casual, ladies-only naked lap at a small backcountry ski area in Kremmling. The idea proved so popular that Boot Tan Fest has steadily grown over the years, welcoming about 800 skiers and snowboarders in 2024.
For Verrochi, the festival’s popularity speaks to the desire to escape society’s expectations and let it all hang out in a judgment-free environment. It is open to all female-identifying and nonbinary individuals.
“This is the only event where there is no male gaze and it’s so freeing in a world where we’re told to cover up and what to wear,” Verrochi said...
