Two or 3 years ago, we planted species #Tulips bc the bred varieties will not grow in our clay soil. These seem to be naturalizing.

Delicate & airy, they draw the eye thru this bed and catch late afternoon sun (next to patio)

Also we have gale warnings here in #Connecticut today - photo from yesterday. Thanks #NewEngland spring!!

Pure floral happiness! I don’t think there’s any plant in the garden that makes me as happy as these early red tulips when they burst into colour each spring

It's quite the Affaire.

The base color of each petal is white and the sides of the petals are patterned with pink in a nectar guide sort of way. There's one that's mostly void of the pink markings in the upper right. A Savannah Sparrow takes the stage.

In a field of tulips, a tiny Savannah Sparrow perches on top of one of the flowers and sings. The keel of the bird's body is white, with brown spots on its neck and head, and touches of yellow around its eyes. The tulips are a dark purplish-pink, and the bird's toes can be clearly seen gripping the petals.

Good morning!

A few years ago, @eliotlovell and I planted lots of tulip bulbs in our communal garden. We didn't request permission, we just did it for everyone's benefit. And now, every spring, they all pop up at once and brighten up everyone's day!
