Unter dem Vorwand von #Alterkontrollen zum #Jugendschutz scheint die autoritäre #EU nun ernst zu machen und möchte, dass sich Menschen zukünftig per Smartphone-App ausweisen, wenn sie das #Internet vollumfänglich nutzen möchten.
Darin sieht man dann nicht nur die Versuche der EU, die Anonymität im Internet gänzlich und zu Gunsten von #Überwachungsstaat und #Überwachungskapitalismis zu beerdigen, sondern wohl auch immer mehr Menschen zum Besitz von Smartphones zu zwingen. Dies wiederum entspringt wohl der Tendenz zur Zwangsdigitalisierung möglichst aller Lebensbereiche und Informationen, die in der Konsequenz dann nur noch per #Smartphone - und damit staatlich überwacht und kontrolliert - offen stehen sollen.

More improvements in Ubuntu Touch
Recently, Ubuntu Touch has seen a lot of improvements regarding many different aspects of the operating system that you can install on your Volla 22 and on your Fairphone 5, including the fact that Ubuntu Touch has improved VoLTE support for said phones.
For the Noble Numbat version of Ubuntu Touch, a new app store, called OpenStore, is now available and will be rolled out to all supported phones. This store will detect the operating system that is running on your phone and filters the applications accordingly.
With the modern version of Go in use, the notification stack for your phones has been re-written to improve user experience and to make handling notifications easier and more intuitive.
As for those who rely on an eSIM to make calls and send SMS messages, you can now use it to perform such tasks. However, there is currently no user interface built to support such hardware, and you’ll have to use the command line to connect to your eSIM on supported phones. The Lpac library has been used to facilitate this task. For those who haven’t heard of it, it is a cross-platform local profile agent program that boasts the following features:
For multimedia, there were changes baked in to the latest Ubuntu Touch update which allows some multimedia to work with USB-C. However, it’s work in progress, so don’t expect call audio to work with Ubuntu Touch yet. Also, it doesn’t automatically detect whether the USB is plugged in and adjust the sound routing to go to that device.
As for the Qt 6 integration, the Ubuntu Touch team have declared that it’s going well, and that it would be helpful for the Morph browser. Also, the Settings app will be updated to include both VoLTE and eSIM to make sure that you can manage those easier than before.

One UI 7 Beta now released for Galaxy A55 series
Did you remember when an official Samsung Newsroom article had confirmed the Beta deployment month for the One UI 7 software based on the all-new Android 15 for the A55 series? Well, the time has finally come! Although the A55 beta program was overdue, One UI 7 Beta has been released for the following countries:
This means that everyone living in the above countries with their phones can now try out One UI 7 in its beta form! This is considered to be the last Beta program for the whole One UI 7 update.
To join the Beta program, open Samsung Members, find the One UI 7 banner similar to the one below, and click on the registration button.
Afterwards, follow the instructions on the screen. If everything is OK, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. You’ll get the screen that looks similar to this:
Let it download, but it’s going to take a bit of time depending on your Internet connection. Afterwards, click on the Install button.
Remember: never interrupt the update process during the installation phase, and make sure that your phone is fully charged before proceeding. This is a precaution intended to avoid interruptions. For some markets, it’s advisable to put your device in a well-ventilated room to avoid green lines caused by heat up in some AMOLED panels.
