Bis heute hatte ich @duckduckgo als Standard #Suchmaschine in meinem Browser. #UnplugTrump hat mich inspiriert, es mal mit #SearXNG zu versuchen. Keine 5 Minuten später läuft es, dank #Yunohost, nun auf meinem VPS. Und ich bin einigermaßen begeistert.

Non è che ci sia la possibilità di fare una blacklist locale degli invadenti siti di immagini stock tipo alamy, istockphoto ecc. per filtrare i risultati senza bisogno di mettere una fila di meno (che non sempre funzionano)?

Sempre più utenti migrano verso browser privacy-first come @librewolf, @Waterfox o @mullvadnet browser Perché? Meno tracciamento, più libertà!

Ich habe der Meerjungfrauengrotte etwas ganz Neues spendiert: eine Suchmaschine, genauer gesagt: SearXNG.

SearXNG ist eine Metasuchmaschine. Es werden weder Profile der Nutzer*innen erstellt noch werden sie getrackt.

Erst einmal läuft SearXNG im Testbetrieb.

Ich habe gerade #SearXNG kennengelernt und auf meinem Homeserver installiert. Es ist sehr cool, den #Datenschutz aufzumotzen und Werbung zu unterbinden.

Ich schaue mir noch an, wie es läuft.

Desde hace muchos meses, mi buscador por defecto es #searxng que uso desde esta instancia patria

Últimamente me estaba sucediendo que al clicar en un resultado de búsqueda y a continuación volver al buscador, firefox daba documento expirado y tenía que hacer dos clicks para reenviar la búsqueda anterior, expirando después de un cierto tiempo.

El problema se soluciona cambiando en las preferencias/privacidad del buscador en HTTP Method por get en lugar de post.

In essence, someone has to foot the bill by hosting a SearXNG instance, but that person has now created a firewall for trackers that they are sharing.

You could set one up for your family and have your own private search aggregate.

I don't understand people who say they'll pay for a #searchengine. Not only is all that public data and knowledge, but they pretend like #SearXNG don't exist - which basically includes indexing from many search engines.

In some cases, it's just another #LLM and selling of tokens. Fine - pay per process is fine. But let's not pretend that these LLMs have anything more special than the aforementioned public data at their disposal, and let's not pretend that this algorithm can't also be skewed.
