Totally forgot I had this rectangular hole in the side wall of a box I was 3D printing. The #K2plus just printed it without any supports. Which means it managed to print a horizontal line of PLA in free space. I’m impressed.

Last call to any 3D printer folks in Cornwall and Devon, I’ve an Ender 5 Plus looking for a new home. Has a new Meanwell 24v 600w power supply, the upgraded main board is a BigTreeTech SKR2 with TMC2209 drivers and a TFT35 board driving the display. Microswiss direct drive for the filament. Only issue is that the bed levelling sensor is playing up. Reasonable offers around £150 before I break it and sell for spares. Strictly pick-up only. Contact me for more info and more pics.

Вы здесь можете видеть на первой картинке график резонанса оси Y: четенький зеленый график, вполне себе ровный. Красные графики - это резонанс оси X. Вот эта картинка где кровь-кишки-распидорасило - это как было до моих вмешательств. Тут мы видим, что ось X действительно распидорасило, что означает, что она клинила. А почему клинила? А потому что кривая оська.

Решение проблемы: взять и расточить цилиндр в печатной голове. Растачивается легко с помощью наждачки, наклеенной на специально распечатанную форму. Стало действительно лучше.

Но улучшило ли это качество печати? Ну в целом, откровенно говоря, хуй его знает. В каменты приложу фотки распечтанного цилиндра до и после.

The thing was insanely well packaged, with no signs of damage to the outside of the box, and the bed itself was bolted down with shipping screws as well, so I’m not sure how enough force was applied to these to shear them, but 3 of 4 were in this state.

Totally fed up with Creality at this point. The K2 Plus arrived broken in so many ways. They send me parts, but the instructions are in video form, and don’t match the printer. The replacement needs almost total disassembly of the printer and some parts seem to be mounted differently to the instructions and with different screws.

Never buy a K2 Plus no matter how good the reviews are. They cannot ship them in one piece.

I’m new to 3D printing.

Should I get the Creality Hi as my first 3D printer?

Fixed the unglued hinge on the #creality K2 and finished the rest of the setup only to be greeted by a stream of errors from the calibration process.

Looks like they not only unglued the hinge but sheared off three of the four studs that the bed is screwed into. Despite having four shipping screws holding that down too.

Yeah, that last one is not happening! No way am I sending my "tax number" (aka SSN) to a company in China. That's crazy...

This is so #Creality can send me a free roll of filament to compensate me for the UV glue I had to buy to reattach the door hinge on the K2 that came unglued in shipping (the UPS guy "rolling" the box up our path probably didn't help, but It was so well packed I don't think that would have done it unless it was already weak).

Ich hatte überlegt, mir einen Bambu Lab A1 Mini als Zweitdrucker zuzulegen. Keine großen Experimente bei den Einstellungen nötig, mit dem hauseigenen Material soll der ja prima Ergebnisse out of the box bringen. Dazu noch einfach zu wechselnde Nozzles, und schick ist er dazu.

Eingelesen, die Sache mit dem Firmwareupdate mitbekommen und erstaunt geschaut. Ernsthaft?

Nun warte ich erst mal ab, was der Creality Hi so bringt, wenn er draußen ist. Nicht ganz so schick, aber nahe dran. Kein RFID, soweit ich gesehen habe, aber ähnlich einfach tauschbare Düsen.

Earlier this week I was regretting not pulling the trigger on a #bambulab A1. Today, not so much.

I'm upgrading from an original model Ender 3. It was frankly a bit of a pain in the ass and I hadn't used it and almost a year. However, not long ago I installed a CR Touch auto bed levelling kit and oh man, is it ever better to use. I haven't levelled my bed in about 8 prints and every print has looked just great.

My natural inclination is the Ender 3 v3 KE. I don't see how it could not be a huge upgrade from what I'm used to.

Then I remember there are, in fact, other companies besides Creality and Bambu that make 3D printers. Is there another model you'd recommend?

Thinking about getting a newer 3D printer in 2025 and, instead of upgrading my old Anycubic Mega X as I did to my i3 Mega, turning that frame into a combined laser engraver & plotter.

The Creality K1C looks promising. Or I wait a little bit and save up and go balls-against-the-walls (a Voron). Mmh.
