George Kiagiadakis<p>💡 Curious about customizing <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/WirePlumber" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WirePlumber</span></a> for embedded systems? In my latest blog post, I break down the configuration structure and explain how to streamline your setup, based on real-world insights from a recent customer project.</p><p>✅ Learn how to:<br>- Use profiles and configuration fragments for easy customization<br>- Minimize unnecessary features for leaner, faster systems<br>- Avoid common pitfalls with desktop dependencies</p><p>🔗 <a href="https://gkiagia.gr/2025-04-22-wireplumber-configuration-on-embedded/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gkiagia.gr/2025-04-22-wireplum</span><span class="invisible">ber-configuration-on-embedded/</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/PipeWire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PipeWire</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Audio</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a></p>
Fedora Project (F42 is OUT)<p>Wireplumber is the session manager for <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@pipewire" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>pipewire</span></a></span>, helping to provide stability and flexibility to your Linux system. You can also do scripting with Lua!</p><p>➡️ <a href="https://fedoramagazine.org/introduction-to-wireplumber/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">fedoramagazine.org/introductio</span><span class="invisible">n-to-wireplumber/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Wireplumber" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wireplumber</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Pipewire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pipewire</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Lua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Lua</span></a></p>
Mika<p><a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/Linux" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Linux</a> audio is bizarrely confusing to a regular user lol - if I were to configure a <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/PulseAudio" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PulseAudio</a> setting (i.e. <code>clock.force-quantum</code>) but obviously most systems now have moved to using <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/PipeWire" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PipeWire</a>, but from what I can tell or think to understand is that systems use PipeWire via something called <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/WirePlumber" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#WirePlumber</a>, should this (user-specific) configuration be done in a WirePlumber config, or PipeWire? I normally could learn these things easily through the <a href="https://sakurajima.social/tags/ArchWiki" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ArchWiki</a>, but so far, this topic is completely lost on me lol.</p>
ploum<p>Trying to figure out why my :debian: sid silenced the mic. It looks like a pipewire/wireplumber issue. If I switch my profile from "stereo input + stereo output" to "proaudio" in pavucontrol then set the default input to "pro 6" (see screenshots), internal mic is working. (but plugged-in not).</p><p>Any idea to identify the issue in order to report the bug against the faulty package (that’s why I use Sid in the first place)?</p><p>My brain is stuck in Alsa/ESD era ;-)</p><p><a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>debian</span></a> <a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/pipewire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pipewire</span></a> <a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/wireplumber" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wireplumber</span></a></p>

I really couldn't be happier. 🤓</p>
