Gundis are the size of a guinea pig and live in Northern Africa (and tiny zoos close to Magdeburg). They are also called comb rats, because the two hind feet have comb-like bristles between the claws. Ein klassisches Beispiel wie sich nicht verwandte <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Tierarten" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tierarten</span></a> auf ähnliche Art und Weise spezialisiert haben um dann von uns auf den ersten Blick und darauf folgend verbal in die gleiche Kiste gesteckt zu werden. Zumindest in <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Argentinien" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Argentinien</span></a> und <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Uruguay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Uruguay</span></a> werden <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Geier" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Geier</span></a> praktisch immer als <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Cuervo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Cuervo</span></a> bezeichnet, nur das Cuervos in Spanien Raben sind, während Geier auf spanisch <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Buitre" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Buitre</span></a> heißen und die Neuweltgeier offiziell <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Jote" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jote</span></a> genannt werden. Ein lustiges Besserwisserspielchen ist also, wenn Mensch sich richtig unbeliebt machen will, zu beginnen wann immer jemensch sagt:"Schau mal ein Rabe (Cuervo)!" Taxonomie zu betreiben.</p><p>Ein weiteres gutes Beispiel verwirrter Namensgebung ist die <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Nutria" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nutria</span></a>. Die Nutria ist in Spanien an sich der Fischotter aus der Familie der Marderartigen während in <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/S%C3%BCdamerika" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Südamerika</span></a> eine Nutria ein im und am Wasser lebendes <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Nagetier" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nagetier</span></a> ist, wenn überhaupt also dem <a href="https://mastodon.uy/tags/Biber" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Biber</span></a> nahe steht. In Deutschland wiederum wird die aus Tierpelzfarmen entwichene Nutria mit ihrem spanisch südamerikanischen Namen benannt. Die spanische Wikipedia spricht von der europäischen Nutria (La nutria europea' o nutria meridional, también denominado nutria paleoártica, nutria de río del Viejo Mundo) um den Fischotter zu bezeichnen. Der südamerikanische Fischotter wiederum wird dort "lobito de río" (Wasserwölfchen), "gato de río" (Wasserkätzchen) und "lobo gargantilla" (Halskrausenwolf) genannt. Da Marderverwandte (Musteloidae) wiederum zu den Hundeartigen gehören die gerne Schlangen fressen schließt sich dann der Kreis doch irgendwie wieder und alle haben ein bisschen
