Good morning and happy Thursday!

I have a tiny fridge at my desk that I hold my morning energy drinks in. It died about a week ago. A coworker and I were talking and he said that he had one just sitting under his bed I could have if I wanted it. So, he brought it in today for me.

That was a nice start to my morning.

I'm up with the parrots this morning and have not long put Ziggy in for her breakfast after a very long and sleepy cuddle session with her this morning, although she did break off from time to time to tell me "Uh uh uh!" and throw my phone to the floor whenever she thought I wasn't entirely focussed on her 😊 I think I've figured out why I woke up with a black eye (in the corner where the tear duct is) yesterday morning. Toby does this thing where he sort of pauses, then suddenly bonks the top of his beak hard on things - the floor, the wall...and my eye as I now recall. A heavyweight boxer punch is nothing compared to an Eclectus beak bonk 😂

Still quiet on the crochet orders front and *still* waiting for safety eyes to arrive so I can finish the competition toy, so I may game again today once Parrot Kitchen is done. Really enjoying my new BG3 playthrough.

Guten Morgen liebe*r Leser*in,

Viren und Trojaner werden auf verschiedene Arten verteilt. Du kannst sie dir über Dateianhänge in Mails, Downloads von unseriösen Quellen oder USB Sticks einfangen. Selten kommen auch kompliziertere Verteilungsmechanismen zum Einsatz. Es gab Fälle, in denen Angreifer*innen Werbung auf normalen Seiten gebucht haben, über die eine Sicherheitslücke im Browser ausgenutzt und damit ein Trojaner installiert wurde. Auch Sicherheitslücken im Betriebssystem können als Einfallstor genutzt werden.
Gerade Windows ist wegen seiner großen Verbreitung nach wie vor das Hauptziel für Angriffe. Um so wichtiger ist es, einen Virenscanner zu nutzten. Zum Glück hat Microsoft mit dem Defender vor Jahren einen Virenscanner integriert, der mit der Zeit mit den großen kommerziellen und kostenlosen Anbietern gleichgezogen hat. Außerdem enthält er keine unnützen Funktionen, mit denen andere Anbieter sich abheben wollen. Unter Windows ist es daher ausreichend, den Defender zu aktivieren.
Auch für MacOS, Linux und Mobilbetriebssysteme gibt es Virenscanner. Dort ist der Einsatz aber nicht ganz so kritisch. Durch die Verwendung von zentralen Appstores beziehungsweise Repositories fallen einige Verbreitungswege weg. Allerdings wird z.B, auch im Google Playstore regelmäßig von Sicherheitsforscher*innen Malware gefunden, die in dutzenden Apps enthalten war. Und das obwohl diese angeblich geprüft sind.
Die Empfehlung für diese Betriebssysteme ist leider nicht so einfach und eindeutig. Am besten informierst du dich über unabhängige Tests großer IT Portale über die aktuell verfügbaren Scanner, falls du einen einsetzen möchtest.
Nimm den heutigen Tag als Anlass und prüfe, ob ein Virenscanner auf deinem System installiert ist und mit aktuellen Signaturen ausgestattet ist.

Another abstract/texture/pattern made from a single image that had been manipulated in various ways. I think this one has a 3D-ish feel to it. Actually, I do have the basic element image from which is pattern was made, and I'm wondering how would it play out if I was to have that image on a tile and, say, lied them up for a bathroom or a kitchen? hmm I think it'd be interesting!

Working this morning and...once again a little tired. Most mornings, that's the case. I did happen to get to the gym early, though, which is good.

Tonight is a middle school honor society event for my MDMRNia (13), so that'll be nice.
