Mike<p>I was pilloried on here recently for my criticism of PSA as a screening test for prostate cancer. <br>Here's a much more insightful letter from someone much more eminent that I am with more insights into not only PSA, but the whole diagnostic and treatment conundrum around this condition </p><p><a href="https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/feb/02/men-concerned-about-prostate-cancer-should-think-before-asking-for-a-psa-test" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">theguardian.com/society/2025/f</span><span class="invisible">eb/02/men-concerned-about-prostate-cancer-should-think-before-asking-for-a-psa-test</span></a></p><p><a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/cancer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cancer</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/prostateCancer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>prostateCancer</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/PSA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PSA</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/cancerScreening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cancerScreening</span></a></p>
Shantell Powell<p>Now that the postal strike is over, I finally sent out my shit through the mail. Oh, the indignity. Possibly the worst part is the envelope isn't a peel-and-stick but a lickem-stickem. Whose idea was that? Shantell Powell<p>I received a letter in the mail on the last day of postal service from Ontario Health. The letter contains a kit for colorectal cancer testing. At that point, I had no idea Canada Post would be going on strike. It's only because someone on Mastodon mentioned the strike that I knew it was happening. Shouldn't there be notifications for this kind of thing? </p><p>It's a good thing I found out about the strike or my poop sample would still be sitting in a mailbox. </p><p>In case you've never received one of these cancer screening kits, be advised that the enclosed postage-paid envelopes aren't peel-and-stick. What sort of monster decided lick-and-stick envelopes were the best choice for fecal samples?<br><a href="https://c.im/tags/PostalStrike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PostalStrike</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/CancerScreening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CancerScreening</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/ColonCancer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ColonCancer</span></a></p>
