I am looking for a time-tracking software, specifically to track work hours, that can fetch and manipulate events via CalDAV, using an existing external calendar.
Does anyone have any tips?
Tip #697
To save or discard event changes? That is the question.
When you have the event editor open and click somewhere outside of it, the editor will close. When you do that, do you want any changes you made to the event to be saved or discarded?
To make your choice:
Our autonomous centre #P31 in Nuremberg startet an online calender for #punk/#hardcore/#grindcore shows - a little bit like in the "old days" but with linktr.ee and kalender.digital:
https://linktr.ee/time.to.act_diy
Btw, what are your opinions on linktr.ee? They have a standard story in their "about" section https://linktr.ee/s/about and a "transparency report" but does it belong to one of the tech-giants or is it independend? Seems not to be open-source but dunno

For over two years now I've been working on the revival of a community calendar that was built in the heady days of the sharing economy before Uber and friends extracted every ounce of community goodwill in their thurst for profit.
A FOSS self hosted community ecosystem calendar (like say one for the local indie band scene) seems like a natural fit for the fediverse.
I've been unpacking some ideas for how this might work in the discussions on the code repo.
Would love folks to give it a read and give any feedback.

ncal can be added to Ubuntu.
Does anyone know when #proton is planning to release the #calendar app for #iPad? The current version is for iOS only and is hardly usable on iPad.

After a week or two with #Radicale, accessing it from #Linux (#Thunderbird), #Android (#Davx5, Fossify Calendar), and #iPadOS (the toughest one to configure), I'm satisfied with it. This replaces my previous usage of #Nextcloud as my cloud-based #Calendar

I am grateful: The #OpenWebCalendar is one of the #opensource projects that get funded by @NGIZero this year!
We have funding for a lot of the #Python stack that it takes to build #calendar applications and #share the appointments via #ICS files: #icalendar #XWRTimezone #RecurringIcalEvents #ICSQuery #Mergecal #Caldav

I created this cute little date picker dialog with the DATEFNS library of Medley Interlisp. It can optionally return the selected date as string.
@iznogoud Here are some screenshots. Note the choices to Add a "Calendar" or "Subscription Calendar". Adding a (normal) Calendar *is for iCloud only*. There is no drop-down menu if you tap "Account - iCloud" in the second screenshot, allowing, say, a CalDAV calendar instead.
Especially note that 3rd screenshot (of the #iPadOS Calendar app) showing that "Add Subscription Calendar" must be read-only. The word "CalDAV" is not anywhere to be seen (as though to try to erase the very word "CalDAV" from the common parlance), but a CalDAV URL can indeed be used. The implication here is that a remote #CalDAV #calendar can't be accessed read-write. Which is true in that app.
