Ich bin die gleiche Tour vor 2 Wochen mit der gleichen Beladung mit dem #BEV gefahren. Mit 18kWh/100km.

Jetzt der Verbrenner hat 5,5kg CNG (H-Gas)/100km gebraucht. Also 55-72kWh/100km!

Also mal ganz unideologisch: das ist doch absurd!

When we bought our Tesla Model Y RWD with a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, I wondered how long it would take to pay off its carbon debt—the emissions from manufacturing, especially the battery. A year later, with 26,000 km on the clock and around 20,000 of those powered directly by our 10 kW rooftop solar, the answer is in: under 8,000 km. But what about lifetime emissions? We compared our Tesla to a similarly sized petrol car like the Toyota Camry, across 200,000 km of driving: 🚗 Toyota Camry (ICE) ➡️ ~6.5 tonnes CO₂ from manufacturing ➡️ ~24 tonnes CO₂ from fuel use (120 g/km) ✅ ~30.5 tonnes total CO₂ ⚡ Tesla Model Y RWD (LFP) ➡️ ~5.5 tonnes CO₂ from manufacturing (incl. battery) ➡️ ~1 tonne from charging (at 80% solar, 20% grid) ✅ ~6.5 tonnes total CO₂ Even before it’s driven a single kilometre, the LFP Tesla has a lower manufacturing footprint. And once it’s on the road—especially with solar—it leaps far ahead. That’s nearly 5x less CO₂ over its life. And the story doesn't stop there. With Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities now rolling out in Australia, EVs are becoming more than transport—they're mobile energy assets. Your car won’t just move you, it will help power your home, or even stabilize the grid. EVs + solar are a game changer. Cleaner. Smarter. Cheaper. And already here.

@KarlHeinzHasliP @denki Personally, I think that standardized #batteries that get swapped would've been the solution to the charging speed problem.

#BEV|s are a problem and the #EnergyDensity and #Charging problems are hard walls that can only be circumvented (i.e. swapping fluids at a #RedoxFlow-#Battery) or ignored (i.e. #Methanol #FuelCell)...

Solving the #EnergyProblem isn't a technological issue, but a political one (see #DESERTEC)...

  • OFC I wished for something else and I'd even consider DIY some methanol fuelcell thingy, but at a cost in the 5 digits for the fuel cell assembly alone that's just not practical.

  • Meanwhile I'll have to make due with what I can afford & maintain!

As for small EVs: If it doesn't have a #CCS2 connector and I can't charge it full in 30min from 0 it's not practical and I'm pretty shure every charging station will throw me out if it takes several hours to recharge.

  • And those €200 adaptors will either be not permitted or get vandalized or stolen by passers-by...

A je to, konečně jsem se rozhýbal a dneska jsem odvezl svoje dieselové auto do bazaru, takže už máme jen ženy benzínovou Fabii a můj služebák, kterým se snažím nejezdit soukromě. Jsem celkem rozhodnut, že další auto domů bude #BEV. Teď ještě vymyslet co to bude, jediná věc je jistá, nebude to Tesla, jinak jsem celkem otevřen čemkoli, uvidíme. 😁
