I want to follow up to an #ottbike post earlier this week about #caa I got an unexpected follow up email from a supervisor. CAA does in fact provide 365 day assistance coverage, all throughout the winter. There seems to be some confusion in their call Center so hopefully they get that sorted out. Having a CAA membership cover this is really important for folks to get over the hurdle of using one less car #biketooter #canada #ontario #ottawa
I have coverage through Alberta Motor Association (partnered with CAA/AAA), under a "community" plan which is cheaper and only covers bike assists (4/year) in roadside assistance.
I think this is most useful if you break down away from a transit route, but if there happens to be a transit stop nearby then it's much simpler to toss your bike on the bus to get you back to your garage.
They also suggest this plan for transit users, but I'm guessing it would only be for discounts?
