Never underestimate the impact of open source on long-term development in innovation in hardware and software.
I remember discussions claiming that RISC-V would never compete with other processors, and so on. It reminds me of the discussions in the late nineties where people said Linux was nice but would never compete with SunOS, AIX, or HP/UX.
People should focus on RISC-V, not just ARM or other proprietary architecture.

I couldn't enjoy the last #marchintosh because I couldn't fix the #powerbook 170 in time, so I wanted to retrieve my #MacintoshLC that was in storage at my parent's. I got it yesterday and drove it to my home in #tuscany on my 1985 #fiat #panda 4x4, so at least it was a period-correct ride 😂
Unfortunately the box was a little wet and I spotted some condense inside, so it goes to the terrace for a little sun bath...
No corrosion inside, fortunately, and I was nice and removed the battery years ago. I'm relieved!

Unsere monatliche Strombilanz, diesmal für den März. Die längeren Tage machen sich bemerkbar. Ab der letzen Woche des Monats waren wir sogar schon fast vollständig autark. Das heißt, der Speicher konnte den Strombedarf in der Nacht überbrücken. nNur an einem diesigen Tag wurde er nicht ganz voll und wir brauchten noch externen Strom. Erfahrungsgemäß bleibt das jetzt bis zur Weinlese so!
PV-Produktion: 2992 kWh
Einspeisung: 1465 kWh
Eigenverbrauch: 1527 kWh
Verbrauch Netz: 203 kWh
Gesamtverbrauch: 1731 kWh
davon E-Auto laden: 217 kWh
Eigenverbrauchsrate: 51 %
PV Anteil am Gesamtverbrauch: 88 %
Hintergrundinfos:
Das ist eine 30 kWp Anlage, gepaart mit einem 30 kWh Speicher der aber nur zu 80 % genutzt wird (20 % Reserve). Daran hängen 2 Einfamilienhäuser und ein Weinbaubetrieb. Der eingespeiste Überschuss geht dann zum Teil noch in eine Energiegemeinschaft für weitere Familienmitglieder.

Als Antwort auf sleepy duck pond appreciator 🦆✨🏳️🌈 • • •I *think* some people have even gone as far as extracting/reconstructing/archiving old Teletext pages from VHS tapes apparently some recorders did that, while most -for mostly obvious reasons- did not ... but then again I remember Teletext was used as a method for subtitling starting in the late 90s.
Funnily enough VLC still supports Teletext to this day via DVB-C multicasts. Discovered/tested that 3 months ago.

Developed an appreciation for it over the last 15 years as my favorite (illegally) open-sourced retro computers (east block ZX Spectrum clones) have a rather similar graphics mode (higher resolution and 2 shades of each color)
