hiscountry, using more accurate methods, he saw it SMALLER, maybe 20%. He is alleged to have said, "I have just lost more territory to my astronomers than to all my enemies!"
He only lost that in his mind, because maps are not real

No, I didn’t know about True Size maps. Thanks for that. The Japanese map showed the size of Africa but to see it consume the combined US, China and India is sobering.
